"History Timeline"

Carolina Tire has a long history as far as South Charlotte goes. Starting operations in 1997 as Pineville Tire & Service Center.
In October of 2008, XL Tire, Inc. of Fort Mill, South Carolina purchased the assets of Pineville Tire and changed the name to Carolina Tire & Service Center to better represent the growing North Carolina and South Carolina area. Carolina Tire is also preparing for growth. Just as Shojiro Ishibashi would grow Bridgestone during low economic times, so will Carolina Tire.

Scouting has begun for a 2nd location in the Charlotte area. Corporate plans are to cover the South Charlotte area by 2020. Providing all Charlotte area car owners a trusted place to receive superior auto repair and quality tires chosen just for their car.

"One Size Does Not Fit All"

With over 30 major tire brands and over 50,000 tire sizes and types, choosing a tire can be overwhelming even for a professional.

At Carolina Tire, our founder and current president & CEO, Jim Seidel has instilled a philosophy on tire buying that is is in our company everyday.

"Choose the best tire for the person, the car and the budget". At Carolina Tire, you will never always get "the cheapest" tire, the "most expensive" or the "tires we bought a lot of". You will get an expert opinion on which tires to choose from based on your own personal driving habits, what you want in a tire, don"t want in a tire, your car"s OE specifications and of course your budget.

Simply stated, if 10 people came in with identical Honda Accord"s, they may drive out of Carolina Tire very happy with 10 different tire brands on their car. Hence our tire buying philosophy, "one size does not fit all".
